Responsibilities

1. Performs all duties in accordance with safety expectations
2. Fills in logs and operating reports
3. Determines equipment and process problems utilizing drawings and procedures
4. Monitors plant inventories
5. Responds to plant alarms and emergencies
6. Responsible for making contacts with maintenance, other supporting departments and supervision regarding operating problems or irregularities
7. Makes equipment safe for operation, cleanout or repair
8. Dismantles, inspects, and cleans process lines and equipment
9. Operator performs confined space permits and authorizes Hot Work permits per procedure
10. Moves material and supplies using material handling equipment such as hand trucks, fork lifts and transtackers
11. Transfers material to and from railcars, tank trucks, hopper trucks and warehouse
12. Assembles containers, packs material and prepares material for movement
13. Collects and test process samples for testing by others
14. Enters lab results on computer
15. May be required to call for overtime support
16. Changes process functions using simple tools such as hoists
17. Performs general housekeeping throughout the facilities to sustain operations
18. Performs necessary SAP functions such as work orders, notifications, and Bill of Ladings to sustain operations

Qualifications

1. A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
2. Strong troubleshooting skills, problem solving skills, and mechanical aptitude
3. High degree of initiative and ability to plan, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision
4. Effective listening skills, responsive to questions, comments, suggestions feedback
5. Ability to work effectively in a team based organization
6. CDL license a plus
