Job summary

Tata Technologies in Chanhassen, MN is seeking a Chemical Lab Technician to support thermal interface materials testing and data collection under supervision. You will perform property tests, document results, and communicate findings with team members.

In this role you will run and maintain lab equipment, ensure calibration and safety checks, and prepare data in Excel for engineers and colleagues. A technical degree with lab experience is preferred.

Role Description

Job Title: Chemical Lab Technician

Location:

Chanhassen, MN

Under the supervision of a Senior Technician or Chemist, the Technician will be expected to perform the following functions with a high level of initiative and independence:

• perform mechanical/electrical/thermal properties testing of thermal interface materials and coating - Evaluate, collect, and record data.

Participates in organizing and performing experiments using established procedures while summarizing and reporting results in a laboratory notebook/ppt. Uses a computer to enter data/information including charts and tables for communication of project results/details.

Responsibilities

Runs and upkeeps laboratory equipment, leads/supports ongoing standardization, harmonization and administration of laboratory test methods - Ensures laboratory and application equipment are calibrated and safety checked in compliance with local regulations

Conducts standard lab testing to support new product introductions and customer sample testing.

Compiles data into Excel spreadsheets to share with Application Engineers and other internal colleagues

Qualifications

Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (a degree in material science, mechanical/civil/structural/material/chemical engineering, would be plus.1-3 year of demonstrated laboratory experience

Computer literate in Microsoft Office products

Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols for preservation of data.

Comfortable and able to work with toxic chemicals while following safe laboratory practices/protocols. - The ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day.
