Job summary

Global Channel Management, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support R&D activities in a team-oriented environment. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is preferred, with the ability to work independently on multitask assignments while collaborating with engineers.

The role involves safe laboratory operation, data collection and reporting, and training other technicians on equipment and procedures. Proficiency in MS Office and statistical software is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience partnering with engineers in product development programs.

• Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Conducts all R&D laboratory work safely including use of PPE and 5S practices.
• Assists in maintaining project timelines.
• Provides support for projects assigned by Engineers and/or Supervisor.
• Uses basic problem solving to overcome bottlenecks and meet deliverables.
• Collects and organizes data; communicates observations from experiments.
• Trains other Technicians on equipment operation and test procedures.
• Performs routine tests and operates equipment safely and efficiently.
• Identifies abnormalities in collected data and project work.
• May take ownership of equipment and ensure safe operation.
• Prepares presentations/reports for intra-department submissions.

Job description

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or other related fields is preferred.

Ability to gather, understand, and interpret chemical, physical and mechanical data.

Demonstrated ability to partner with other team members in product development programs.

Must be able to work as a team member and also independently on multi-task assignments.

Knowledgeable in Power Point, Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, Microsoft Project and Statistical Analysis Software is preferred.

• Conducts all R&D laboratory work in a safe manner including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to site safety practices, use of laboratory equipment, 5S, etc.
• Assists in maintaining project time-lines.
• Provides support for various projects assigned by Engineers and/or Supervisor.
• Employs basic problem solving skill-sets to overcome project bottlenecks and maintain project deliverable dates.
• Collects and organizes data in a coherent format. Communicates basic observations regarding data and/or experimental outcome.
• Expected to train other Technicians regarding equipment operation and/or test procedures.
• Ability to perform routine tests and operate application equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to identify abnormalities in collected data and/or project work.
• May take on equipment ownership and responsible for maintaining safe operation of the assigned equipment.
• Intra-departmental submission of presentations and/or reports.
