Job summary

Bechtel is offering a U.S. Summer Internship in Process Engineering. Interns join multi-disciplinary teams to support the design of large-scale chemical facilities, gaining hands-on experience on real projects across Bechtel's GBUs and locations.

The 10-week program runs mid-June through mid-August, with exposure to professional development, mentorship, and end-of-program presentations. Opportunities may include field sites, regional offices, or corporate settings, with relocation as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year B.S. degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in one of the above fields.
• Possess the eligibility to work in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Preferred: Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Determining the sequence of operations and the selection of equipment and operating conditions required to convert a feedstock into products.
• Generating Process Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material Balances, and Process Datasheets.
• Designing the Relief System.
• Supporting disciplines to ensure that process design intent is maintained throughout the work of the downstream design disciplines.
