Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Engineer to join our client’s team in Midrand. The role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency, safety, and sustainability through rigorous analysis and practical implementations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience and hands-on use of Aspen Plus or HYSYS. A collaborative, safety-conscious mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in chemical process engineering.
  • Experience with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
  • Strong thermodynamics, mass transfer and fluid mechanics knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing chemical processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Design and implement process improvements to optimize yield and reduce waste.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and pilot plant trials for new processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
