Job summary

RASIRC is seeking a passionate and dynamic Chemical Engineer II to join our team in San Diego, CA. You will advance high-purity chemical manufacturing processes, focusing on scaling, optimization, and operational excellence, with a strong emphasis on BRUTE Hydrazine commercialization efforts.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in semiconductor or high-purity chemical manufacturing, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, and proficiency in process design, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (required).
  • 5–8 years of relevant industry experience (semiconductor or high-purity chemical manufacturing preferred).
  • Strong understanding of chemical process design, scale-up, and optimization.
  • Experience working with hazardous chemicals and high-purity systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO-certified manufacturing environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with process control systems and data logging tools.
  • Ability to travel (~10%) as needed.
  • Ability to work in controlled environments while following all safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Ability to lift approximately 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operation, monitoring, and optimization of chemical process systems producing high-purity specialty chemicals.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Support advanced troubleshooting of complex chemical and mechanical systems.
  • Take ownership of key portions of HVM plant readiness and scale-up activities.
  • Lead process validation, qualification, and transition to commercial production.
  • Collaborate on system design improvements and capital projects.
  • Analyze production and quality data to drive process improvements and yield optimization.
  • Develop detailed technical reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and reliability.
  • Drive updates to SOPs, work instructions, and best practices.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols involving hazardous chemicals.
  • Lead or participate in Hazard Reviews, PHA/HAZOP activities.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO and semiconductor industry standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process and equipment issues.
  • Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to improve system reliability.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, R&D, and supply chain teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Support training and knowledge transfer across teams.
