Job summary

SIMCO, LLC, the managing and operating contractor for WIPP, seeks a qualified Chemical Engineer/Chemist to support the Payloads Engineering group in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The role involves processing TRUCON requests, reviewing chemical evaluations, maintaining master lists, and preparing intersite TRAMPAC while training to become a Payload Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related fields with 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the US without SIMCO visa sponsorship.
• Must be able to obtain a DOE badge for WIPP site access.

Responsibilities

• Support the Payloads Engineering group, backing up Payload Engineers.
• Process TRUCON code requests from generator site interface to CBFO approval.
• Review CCEs, update WDS chemical master list, review WSPFs and prepare intersite TRAMPAC as needed.
