Qualifications

• Associates degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Must have 40 hours of chemical dependency education.
• Must attain status as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant, LSW Assistant, or LPC Assistant within 30 days of appointment.
• Must attain licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II, Licensed Social Worker or LPC within three years of appointment.
• Familiarity with CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
• Must maintain certification requirements of the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board or the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and oversee a clinical program for residents.
• Assess residents for clinical problems and develop treatment plans.
• Monitor and modify treatment plans according to residents’ progress.
• Provide individual counseling sessions.
• Facilitate group sessions and classes.
• Provide case management by coordinating with agencies and professionals.
• Complete progress notes, reports, discharge summaries, and related data.
• Respond to crisis situations using appropriate intervention techniques.
