Job summary

BayMark Health Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor to support patients through medically assisted treatments and coping strategies in an outpatient setting.

You will conduct individual and group sessions, develop treatment and aftercare plans, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to achieve recovery goals. A valid Ohio license (CDCA/LCDC/LPC/LSW) and EMR familiarity are required.

Qualifications

  • Ohio CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LPC, or LSW license is required.
  • Experience with chemically dependent individuals is preferred.
  • Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients is essential.
  • Understanding of an EMR system is required.
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check are required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and opioid addiction techniques.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions for crisis management and coping strategies.
  • Evaluate patient progress and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors.
  • Provide individual and group counseling; coordinate services throughout treatment.
  • Develop treatment and discharge plans and initial treatment plans.

Compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor Needed!

Position Overview

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities
  • Substance use counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction.
  • Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
  • Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and in collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
  • Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
  • Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
  • Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
  • Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients in trauma informed manner
  • Other related duties as determined by supervisor
Qualifications
  • Must possess an Ohio CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LPC, or LSW.
  • Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred
  • Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
  • Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
