Job summary

Darke County Recovery Services, DBA Recovery and Wellness Centers of Midwest Ohio in Eaton, OH seeks a Substance Use Disorder Counselor. You will provide core treatment for chemical dependency, explain confidentiality and patient rights, and develop diagnostic and treatment plans with clients while coordinating interventions and referrals.

Documentation must be completed within 24 hours. The role includes collaborative, multidisciplinary work, possible supervision of interns, and may require

Qualifications

• 2 years of substance abuse treatment experience or 5 years sobriety in a therapeutic environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with the ability to become certified upon hiring.
• Licensure options include LICDC, CCDC-I/II, CDCA, LCDC-II/III, LISW.
• Willing to provide licensure supervision if required.
• Good oral and written communication; reliable documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary treatment for persons with chemical dependency.
• Inform clients of confidentiality, rights, and payment expectations.
• Perform diagnostic, treatment planning, and substance abuse services.
• Coordinate interventions and referrals as needed.
• Document within 24 hours of service; maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Participate in program evaluation and attend staff meetings.
• May supervise interns and work at other locations.
• Maintain a safe, clean workplace and use CPR/First Aid if needed.
