Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers in Ohio is seeking a compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor to guide patients through medication-assisted treatments and evidence-based counseling in our outpatient clinic.

You will conduct individual and group sessions, collaborate with doctors and nurses, and help develop treatment plans, discharge plans, and aftercare strategies to support long-term recovery for our patients.

Qualifications

• Must possess an Ohio CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LPC, or LSW certification.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Ability to conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Commitment to compassionate, non-judgmental patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and techniques for handling opioid addiction.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for crisis management and coping strategies.
• Evaluate patients’ progress and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to improve outcomes.
• Provide direct counseling services and coordinate all services throughout treatment.
• Establish and review each patient's initial treatment plan.
• Complete bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Ensure delivery of counseling services in a trauma-informed manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Description

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Substance use counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction.
• Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
• Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients in trauma informed manner
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Must possess an Ohio CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LPC, or LSW.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
