Job summary

DuBois Chemicals, Inc. is seeking a plant operator to create and package products, with safety and quality as top priorities. The role involves handling raw materials, sample batches, recording data and paperwork, and operating a forklift.

This full-time position starts at 5:00 AM and includes overtime as needed, with benefits such as health insurance, PTO, holiday pay and 401K match. The plant environment can be hot in summer and cold in winter, and employees are expected to maintain

Responsibilities

• Process formulas and blending products for shipment.
• Decant chemicals into containers per procedures.
• Quarantine suspect chemical material and report to Operations Manager.
• Follow PPE, SDS and safety procedures.
• Maintain plant housekeeping and equipment cleanliness.
• Support inventory and raw materials coordination in the plant.
• Provide back-up support to plant staff when needed.

Safety and Quality concerns are paramount. Chemicals blenders handle raw material, sample batches, record data / paperwork, and forklift operations. Will be cross trained on other tasks & functions.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for processing formulas and blending products for shipmentResponsible for decanting chemical into containers as specified in related proceduresResponsible for all shipping and receiving dutiesQuarantine suspects chemical material and report to Operations ManagerComply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safe handling practices as required from Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company proceduresFollow WHMIS, MSDS and all other safety training requirements and proceduresFollow all government and regulatory requirements when handling and transporting chemical materialsClean and store safety equipment for re-useComply with all safety requirements within the companyReport process and/or safety equipment issues to Operations ManagerPerform preventative maintenance on equipment as requiredReport to Operations Manager to ensure adequate inventory and raw materials in the plantResponsible for housekeeping through the plant and facilityEnsure supplies are distributed as required throughout the facilityNeatly store supplies, empty containers and inform purchasing when levels require re-orderingGeneral housekeeping of the plant and surrounding areasRegular and sustained attendanceProvide back up support to all plant staff when neededMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Previous experience in a manufacturing facilityPrevious experience operating a forkliftAbility to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleaguesStrong communication skills and time managementEDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GEDOTHER INFORMATION:Full-Time (40 Hours a week) with occasional overtimeBenefits: Health Insurance, PTO, Holiday Pay, 401K Match PlanStart Time: 5:00 AMPay Range: $26.00 - 30.00/HRThis position works in an enclosed building that is subject to variances in temperatures, extreme heat in summer, and colder temperatures in winter.
