Job Summary

Clark Testing is seeking a Chemical Analyst/Lab Technician for our Jefferson Hills (PA) testing laboratory. The Analyst/Technician performs work in our Industrial Hygiene and Analytical Chemistry laboratories, primarily responsible for Chromatography and XRD analysis in a production-type laboratory. Sample matrices include various raw materials and industrial hygiene air samples.

Primary Duties

1. Preparation and analysis of samples.
2. Data review and interpretation.
3. QA/QC data entry, including control charting.
4. Review backlog and schedule the day.
5. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
6. Review SOPs and their associated methods.
7. Assist co-workers in other laboratory areas as needed.
8. Perform other duties as required by management.

Qualifications & Competency Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a related field required; a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years’ laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of physical and material properties from academic and work experience.
• Understanding of mathematical-chemistry related calculations.
• Accurate data entry in logbooks and Lab Information Management System (LIMS).
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel and Word.
• Experience with OE, XRD, ICP, IC, LC, GC, Wet Chemistry is a plus.
• Positive attitude, team player, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, problem-solve, and manage time effectively.
• Safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable of safe lab practices and PPE usage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers and clients.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude is a plus.
• Good eye/hand coordination.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move objects up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable moving and connecting gas cylinders.
• Willing to work daylight shifts, overtime, and off-shift hours as needed.
• Authorized to work in the U.S., pass drug screening and background checks.
• Reliable transportation for daily commute.
