Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group seeks a Process and Instrumentation/Controls Engineer Intern or Co-op in Ohio to support design projects. You will work with a team of engineers to prepare drawings, calculations, and deliverables, interfacing with other disciplines for cohesive client packages.

Responsibilities include basic calculations, developing P&IDs, PFDs, and loop drawings, and assisting senior engineers. The role offers exposure to process safety concepts and industry codes within a consulting

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Chemical Engineering from a four-year college/university.
• Ability to work with diverse teams from Nexus, clients, and others.
• Effective communication skills to convey ideas clearly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; seek feedback to improve performance.
• Experience with Aspen, HYSYS, ChemCAD, AutoCAD or other process modeling software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations of limited complexity with supervision as needed; may include hydraulics, relief devices, equipment sizing, control valve, and flow meter sizing.
• Develop and maintain P&IDs, PFDs, and block and loop drawings.
• Assist experienced engineers with activities as requested.
