Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Intern or Co-op in Cleveland, OH. You will work with engineers to prepare drawings, instrument specifications, calculations, and other deliverables for client design projects.

You will interface with team members across disciplines to deliver cohesive engineering packages. The role involves learning process safety, industry codes and standards, and gaining exposure to business workflows within a consulting firm.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Chemical or Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university.
• Ability to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and others.
• Effective communication skills to convey ideas clearly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
• Familiar with AutoCAD or other drafting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations of limited complexity with supervision as needed; may include control valve and flow meter sizing.
• Develop and maintain block and loop drawings.
• Provide support with instrument specifications.
• Assist experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineers with their activities.
