Job summary

Belmont Village Senior Living Corporate is offering a 6-month Chef Manager In-Training (CMIT) program, a comprehensive leadership track within our culinary operations in California. You will rotate through dining service tasks, mentored by an experienced Chef Manager Preceptor, and progressively assume greater responsibilities while maintaining Belmont Village’s high standards.

Successful graduates may advance to Chef Manager positions across our communities, with ongoing mentorship and career

Qualifications

• Must have a High school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience required.
• Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of food service experience, preferably in al‑la‑carte or banquet service.
• Interest in working with older population
• Experience with food service POS Systems
• You’ll receive personalized support from a dedicated mentor/preceptor throughout this paid training program.
• Proficient in workplace technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, basic computer troubleshooting, internet navigation, and video conferencing, and the ability to rapidly learn other new technological systems
• Ability to work flexible schedules in a 24 hour operation including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal English
• Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
• Participants must be open and willing to relocate following the training for their first assignment as Chef Manager to any market in which Belmont Village operates.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the 6‑month CMIT program to gain hands‑on experience in all aspects of the Food Service Program.
• Learn leadership skills to manage a high‑volume dining service and oversee the Food Service team.
• Upon successful completion, be considered for a Chef Manager position based on performance and company needs.
