Belmont Village Senior Living in Buffalo Grove, IL is seeking a Chef Manager to lead our dining program with hospitality‑driven service and culinary excellence. You will manage a team, ensure recipe consistency, control costs, and partner with regional teams to align with organizational dining goals.

You’ll hire, train, and develop staff, oversee food ordering and inventory, and ensure safety and quality standards across our modern kitchen and restaurant-style dining room.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe certificate.
• Formal culinary training through degree or certificate program.
• Must communicate clearly in verbal and written English.
• Ability to work flexible schedule.
• Experience using MS Office and POS systems.
• Minimum two years kitchen managerial experience and five years of volume cooking.
• Consistent, reliable attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food service compliance while ensuring quality and productivity by scheduling and coordinating kitchen staff operations.
• Ensure recipe consistency and adherence to company standards while planning special event menus.
• Drive resident and guest satisfaction through clear communication, superb meal preparation, and outstanding dining service.
• Manage food ordering and equipment inventory to minimize waste and maintain budget compliance.
• Train staff in safety protocols, food handling, and kitchen cleanliness; apply policies fairly.
• Collaborate with community leadership, regional teams, and corporate support to align with goals.
• Lead staffing efforts including interviewing, hiring, performance management, coaching, and delegation.
