Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic and optimistic leader to fill the role of Chef Manager, 2nd Shift in Greensburg, Indiana. The role oversees cooks and kitchen staff to deliver high-quality foodservice with a focus on safety and budget adherence.

The Chef Manager will plan budgets, direct purchasing, and ensure regulatory compliance while developing hourly team members and maintaining excellent communication across departments.

Qualifications

• Formal culinary degree preferred.
• 3+ years of food service chef/management experience.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing teams.
• Proven ability to meet and maintain budget goals.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct the work of cooks and team members in procurement, storage, preparation and serving of food.
• Assist in preparation of budget estimates and justifications for the food service program.
• Plan and direct ordering, receiving and accounting of all food products, supplies and equipment.
• Evaluate existing operational methods for effectiveness and efficiency, initiating changes as necessary.
• Interview, select, manage and develop hourly team members.
• Oversee food safety to ensure full compliance with federal, state and other regulations.
• Develop and adhere to policies and procedures for the food service program.
