Job summary

Sanctuary Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley, Arizona, seeks a Chef de Cuisine to provide hands-on culinary leadership across Elements Restaurant, Jade Bar, In-Room Dining, and Poolside service, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation at the resort's elevated standards.

You will lead daily kitchen operations, develop menus with leadership, mentor the culinary team, manage food costs, and ensure safety and sanitation while delivering guests a memorable Sanctuary dining experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive culinary experience with supervisory or leadership roles in high-volume settings.
• Experience in luxury hospitality or fine dining preferred.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, menu execution, food preparation, and presentation.
• Experience with food cost control, inventory, waste reduction, and ordering practices.
• Proven ability to train, motivate, and lead culinary team members.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring menus, recipes, plating, and quality meet standards.
• Lead and supervise kitchen staff with coaching, training, and development.
• Ensure proper receiving, storage, labeling, rotation, and handling of food per regulations.
• Monitor food quality, portions, preparation methods, and presentation for consistency.
• Assist with menu development, recipe implementation, and seasonal offerings.
• Monitor costs, waste, inventory, and portioning to support financial goals.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation across kitchen areas.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and hospitality standards.
• Support VIP events and special guest requests with high-level service.
• Communicate effectively with culinary team, other departments, vendors, and leadership.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
