Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to lead the dining services culinary team at UCEN on the main campus. You will supervise culinary staff, develop recipes, and ensure high-quality, safe, and timely meal production across dining operations.

The role reports to the Unit Manager of Hospitality Services and requires oversight of menu execution, production standards, and coordination with R&D and senior chefs to maintain food quality and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Certified in food service safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Develops, tests, and refines recipes for UCEN menus prioritizing quality and speed of service.
• Oversees kitchen production staff and assigns tasks to ensure timely meal service.
• Monitors sanitation, safety, and proper cooking techniques across UCEN operations.
• Maintains inventory control and coordinates with managers on production timelines.
