Job Overview

We are looking for a Cook/Chef to join Aurora on France assisted living team in Edina, MN! This position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. This position will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our senior care & living building.

This culinary services position includes:

• Full Time; 80 hours in two weeks
• Day/Evening shift
• Every other weekend

Responsibilities include:

1. Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes
2. Handle and prepare food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards
3. Ensure timely production and meal service to residents
4. Set up line service
5. Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use
6. Assist with special events
7. Assist Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff

Required:

• ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date
• Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications
• Good problem solving and time management skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred:

• Vocational/technical training/education/degree
• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Cooking experience in a similar environment
• Scratch cooking experience
