Since 2003, The Lakes Bar & Grill has been a staple of Lake Madison, South Dakota - a destination for locals and visitors alike who enjoy great food, friendly service, and scenic views. Located on-site with a 15-room motel and 9-hole golf course, our restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining, providing our guests with exceptional meals and our team with a one-of-a-kind workplace.

We're looking for chefs and cooks who are reliable, passionate about food, and enjoy working as part of a team. Whether you have years of experience as a professional chef or are a hardworking cook looking to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a chef or cook at The Lakes Bar & Grill, you'll prepare menu items to exact specifications, help develop seasonal features, and contribute to a clean, efficient, and positive kitchen environment. You'll play an essential role in delivering the quality meals and dining experience our customers expect. This is a hands-on position, perfect for those who love the art of cooking and the energy of a busy kitchen.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive wages ranging from $17 to $21 per hour depending on experience and position. In addition, full-time chefs and cooks are eligible for health and dental insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and access to employee discounts. All team members enjoy free soda, discounted meals, a complimentary shift drink (if 21+), and the opportunity to golf on our scenic course.

Who We're Looking For

Ideal candidates for this chef or cook position are dependable, team-oriented, and take pride in their work. You should be comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment, communicating clearly with coworkers, and maintaining high standards of food quality and cleanliness.

Previous experience as a chef or cook in a commercial kitchen is preferred, but we are also open to training the right candidate who brings a great attitude and a willingness to learn.
