Job description

Within our Cheese Department team located in Allendale, MI, Leprino is seeking a Cheese Production Supervisor (nights) to elevate our cheese production operations to new heights of excellence! Responsibilities:

1. Plan and schedule daily staffing needs to optimize labor efficiency and meet production requirements.
2. Lead and coach team members, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring peak engagement and productivity.
3. Reinforce company and plant policies consistently and fairly, responding to employee inquiries and concerns.
4. Supervise daily cheese shift operations, ensuring production standards and quality parameters are met.
5. Achieve targeted production volumes while minimizing downtime through proactive equipment maintenance.
6. Implement and oversee plant safety programs to ensure compliance and a safe working environment.
7. Lead safety investigations, corrective actions, and execute departmental quality systems to achieve quality goals.
8. Monitor team operations and make recommendations for efficiency, cost savings, and quality improvements.
9. Oversee the effectiveness of the sanitation program to ensure food safety standards are met.

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

1. College Degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
2. 5+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with additional education substituting where applicable.
3. 1+ year of experience in leadership, mentoring, and/or delegating work.
4. Proficient computer skills with familiarity or ability to learn SAP or other manufacturing systems.

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

1. Dairy/cheese manufacturing experience.
2. Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
