Job summary

Agropur in Jerome, Idaho seeks an Area Production Manager - Cheese to supervise and mentor production teams, ensure safety, quality, and efficient operations in a dairy setting. You will train supervisors, optimize processes, and implement SOPs to drive consistent high-value cheese products.

Candidates should have 5+ years in manufacturing, dairy experience preferred, and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. This role emphasizes leadership, coaching, and adherence to GMP and HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field; food industry preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of manufacturing experience.
• 3-5 years supervisory experience.
• Experience in dairy/food production preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and coaching to ensure safety standards and incident prevention.
• Oversee operation of workers and equipment in production of high quality products.
• Develop SOPs for the department and communicate expectations to supervisors and hourly employees.
• Mentor supervisors and employees to ensure conformance to product specifications.
• Improve quality and efficiency using operations improvement tools (AOS, Run to Target, Focused Improvement, Direction Setting).
• Analyze laboratory data and trends to respond appropriately.
• Maintain equipment with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
• Coach on GMP and food safety programs in daily production runs.
• Manage yields, recovery, and opportunities to optimize processes.
