Job summary

Beecher’s Handmade Cheese in Seattle is seeking a production assistant to learn cheesemaking and operate milk receiving, pasteurizer, vats, cheddaring, and packaging. You will keep detailed production records, follow GMP and food safety standards, and work with a collaborative team.

No prior cheesemaking experience is required; must be 18+, able to lift 65 lbs, and weekend availability is required. Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn and master the cheesemaking process (milk receiving, pasteurizer and vat operation, cheddaring, hooping, pressing, packaging, and shipping).
• Maintain detailed and accurate production records.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety standards.
• Perform regular cleaning and sanitization of production equipment.
• Work closely with a supportive, collaborative team.
