Job summary

Busch’s is hiring a Cheese Merchandiser to oversee the cheese department and lead a team of cheese mongers. The role focuses on product quality, customer engagement, and strong merchandising practices across locations in Southeast Michigan.

The ideal candidate will be a certified cheese professional with leadership experience, capable of managing inventory, conducting tastings, and collaborating with other departments to promote cross-merchandising opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold CCP certified cheese professional from ACS or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of cheeses including origins and pairings.
• Proven leadership ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Strong merchandising skills to design effective displays and drive profits.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in fast pace.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and email; learn proprietary apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of cheese mongers at multiple locations.
• Curate and manage local and artisanal cheeses with focus on freshness and quality.
• Design eye-catching cheese displays to attract customers.
• Educate customers about cheeses, tastings, and pairing suggestions.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
• Track sales, feedback, and market trends to inform offerings and promotions.
• Collaborate with deli and grocery to promote cross-merchandising.
• Represent the department at local events and markets.
