Job summary

Meijer in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Cheese Steward to be the in-store expert in the Cheese Shoppe. You will provide outstanding customer service with product knowledge and a friendly attitude, helping customers select and enjoy cheese confidently.

You will also assist with suggestive selling, stock displays, and efficient service while operating slicers and related tools. Prior retail experience and passion for cheese are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and a friendly attitude.
• 2+ years in retail, preferably with cheese.
• Culinary knowledge or continued culinary education a plus.
• Knowledge of cheese varieties and pairings preferred.
• Merchandising and product recommendation skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move product.

Responsibilities

• Suggestive selling of products in Cheese Shoppe and other areas of the store.
• Respond to customer questions in an engaging and effective manner.
• Stock and merchandise product displays to meet customer demands and drive sales.
• Operate equipment such as slicers, knives, and wire cutters.
