Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s in Morris Plains, NJ is seeking a Cheese Clerk to join our gourmet store team. You will slice, serve, and share cheese knowledge, helping guests discover a curated selection while maintaining a clean, safe display that showcases our passion for quality.

The role emphasizes friendly customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment. HS diploma and 1 year in food retail preferred; English fluency required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required
• At least 1 year of experience in a retail food environment preferred
• Excellent customer service skills and a passion for cheese
• Highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Must be able to speak, read and understand English
• Interest in cheese to help grow the department

Responsibilities

1. Individual supports a positive customer experience, providing guests with a unique, enthusiastic and informational experience.
2. Observes and supports all store rules and company policies.
3. A Cheese Clerk packs, labels and merchandises cheese and related items according to Uncle Giuseppe’s policies.
4. Maintains the entire work area in a clean and sanitary condition and follows all safety procedures.
5. Performs all other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements

1. HS Diploma or equivalent
2. A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a retail food environment
3. Excellent customer service skills and a passion for cheese
4. Highly organized and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
5. Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
6. An interest in cheese to help facilitate learning and growing within the department
