Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s is seeking a Cheese Clerk for our gourmet store. You’ll slice, serve, and share knowledge of artisan cheeses, creating an inviting display and ensuring fresh, safe products.

You’ll work with customers to provide an enthusiastic, informative experience, maintain clean displays, and follow store policies. A HS diploma and 1 year in retail food is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail food environment.
• Excellent customer service and passion for cheese.
• Highly organized with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Provide guests with a unique, enthusiastic, and informational experience.
• Observe and support all store rules and company policies.
• Pack, label and merchandise cheese and related items according to Uncle Giuseppe’s policies.
• Maintain the entire work area in a clean and sanitary condition and follow all safety procedures.
• Perform all other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements

1. HS Diploma or equivalent
2. A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a retail food environment
3. Excellent customer service skills and a passion for cheese
4. Highly organized and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
5. Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
6. An interest in cheese to help facilitate learning and growing within the department
