Job summary

CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL in Independence, Oregon seeks a Cheer Assistant Coach to support the school’s athletics program. The role involves coaching participants, following the head coach’s system, and planning in-season practices with the Activities Director.

The coach will supervise athletes, document attendance and insurance records, and uphold sportsmanship and safety standards while coordinating with the Head Coach and staff.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coaches participants in skills for the sport.
• Follows the Head Coach's system of play.
• Plans and schedules practice in season with Head Coach and Activities Director.
• Works with Head Coach on scheduling and finance.
• Provides supervision for athletes during practice and travel.
• Maintains attendance forms and insurance records.
• Promotes sportsmanship and ethical conduct.
• Ensures safety conditions of facilities.
• Enforces eligibility criteria for interscholastic competition.
• Implements penalties for misconduct and arranges equipment purchases.
• Responsible for care of equipment and facilities.
• submits inventory post-season.
• Submit roster and awards lists as required.
• Prepare roster before first game and brief manager on duties.
• Attend organizational meetings.
