Job summary

Lowe’s is seeking a capable cashier to deliver SMART customer service in its South Bend, IN store. You will help customers locate items, demonstrate usage, process sales, manage returns, and handle loading of merchandise, all while following Lowe’s policies and procedures.

The role involves cashier responsibilities, basic tech usage, and assisting with front-end operations to keep the checkout area efficient and secure. Prior retail exposure and a proven customer-service mindset are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.
• Less than 1 Year experience using a computer.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide SMART customer service at all times per Lowe’s customer service policies.
• Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Explain product features, warranties, and price match information to customers.
• Coaches and trains associates on departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using the cash register.
• Ensure security procedures and proper change handling are followed.
• Prepare register area at shift start and end, and verify scanners and supplies.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety in the work area.
