Job summary

Fiesta Mart is seeking a Checker - 024 Houston-Fondren to join our Store Operations Team at Fondren Rd, Houston, TX. You will deliver friendly customer service, process purchases accurately, and support store assets with daily cash handling and register duties.

Qualified candidates read and write English and Spanish, understand pricing labels, and can lift up to 60 pounds. Prior retail or cashier experience is a plus in this fast-paced grocery environment.

• Read and comprehend product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of times.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
