Job summary

Fiesta Mart is seeking a Checker at Store 020 Houston-Willowbrook (ages 16-17) to deliver friendly, efficient service and handle sales transactions in a fast-paced grocery environment. This on-site role requires basic computer skills and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

The candidate will assist customers, read labels, and adhere to store policies while contributing to a welcoming shopping experience in Houston, TX. Training is provided, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English; interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence and present information clearly to customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service under supervision.
• Process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently; operate cash register.
• Safeguard company assets and follow store procedures.
• Assist with stocking and shelf presentation as needed.
• Lift and move up to 60 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of time. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
