Job summary

National Heritage Academies is seeking a School Finance Partner to join our Financial Services team in Grand Rapids. This role supports school budgets, spending analysis, and reporting to ensure accurate financial statements and regulatory compliance.

The position reports to the Manager of School Finance and requires strong data analysis, collaboration across departments, and a customer-service mindset focused on school needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field (must have or be in progress).
• Experience analyzing and summarizing data for customers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in interdependent teams requiring collaboration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office products.

Responsibilities

• Work with school leadership to develop, review, and adjust budgets; provide timely updates on spending.
• Evaluate spending against budgets for sustainability and program alignment.
• Prepare timely, accurate financial statements and reporting across platforms.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and accounting rules and regulations.
• Advocate for schools’ needs with education departments and chartering authorities.
• Communicate clearly with teams, vendors, and education departments with excellent service.
• Assess complex situations and provide solutions independently and with the team.
• Assist with programmatic and financial audits as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
