Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - Memorial Campus in El Paso, TX is seeking an RN Charge Nurse to lead a busy unit during night shifts. You will guide staffing, oversee patient flow, and supervise support staff while delivering direct clinical care in coordination with medical providers.

Responsibilities include supervising admissions/transfers, monitoring charts, ensuring safety compliance, administering medications, and participating in disaster and emergency response tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing preferred.
• 1 year of RN experience required.
• Licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by state; BLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable.

Responsibilities

• The charge nurse oversees admissions, transfers and discharges, and mentors new staff.
• Monitors medical charts and liaises with doctors, communicating protocol changes.
• Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and maintains accurate reports.
• Provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective nursing care to all patients assigned.
• Coordinates patient care based on the nursing process and safety standards.
• Directs care according to safety, risk management, QA, and Infection Control policies.
• Coordinates and plans patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administers medications safely per hospital policy.
• Fulfills Hospital Incident Command System responsibilities during emergencies.
• Familiar with hospital emergency codes and corresponding actions.
