Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence East Campus, part of Tenet Healthcare, invites you to join as a Charge Registered Nurse in El Paso, TX. This role coordinates, supports, and supervises RNs/LVNs to ensure smooth nursing unit operations and effective shift transitions.

You will lead patient and family teaching, collaborate with leadership and staff, and uphold professional nursing standards in a fast-paced clinical setting. A strong focus on safety and high-quality care is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Academic bachelor's or master's degree in nursing preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Texas or a Compact State.
• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; if ARC, obtain American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS must be obtained by the end of the department orientation.
• Refer to Attachment A for all certifications.

Responsibilities

• Institute and initiate a plan of care for patients based on initial assessment within the shift; document, implement and continuously evaluate interventions; reassess patient needs as required.
• Develop, discuss and communicate a realistic plan of care for each patient with patient/family/significant other.
• Recognize changing patient condition and modify the plan using resources, chain of command and Rapid Response Team promptly.
• Assimilate information to take immediate, decisive patient-focused action through rounds and timely addressing concerns.
• Maintain a safe environment and respond to rapid-changing patient conditions and emergent situations.
• Demonstrate skills and judgment to implement plan of care and nursing interventions and procedures.
