Medical University of South Carolina seeks an experienced Registered Nurse, Charge for the Neurology Progressive Care Unit to lead nursing care and serve as a clinical resource for the team.

You will apply nursing expertise, judgment, and leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care on your shift, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and promoting patient-centered outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Progressive care, neurology, acute care, or charge/leadership experience is preferred.
• Current RN license through SC Board or a compact state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight during the shift.
• Coordinate and prioritize patient care activities for safe unit operations.
• Guide and support licensed and non-licensed staff to deliver care.
• Delegate and supervise to ensure appropriate delivery of patient care.
• Use independent nursing judgment to identify patient needs and resources.
• Promote compliance with nursing standards and hospital policies.
