Job summary

Texas Health Ft. Worth's Women's Center seeks a Charge RN - Maternal/Newborn to join our team on a PRN basis. The unit is a 27-bed Maternal/Newborn unit with 275–300 deliveries per month and a MAGNET designation.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with the care team, and ongoing professional development, with self-scheduling and active involvement in governance. RN experience in acute care and BCLS are required; NRP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma.
• Bachelor's degree Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• One-year experience as a registered nurse (RN) in an acute care setting required.
• 2-years' experience as an RN in an acute care setting preferred.
• 2-years current Maternal/Newborn RN experience strongly preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program preferred.
• Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• The Charge Nurse will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team.
• Support and actively participate in shared governance/councils.
• Committed to developing their knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and lifelong learning.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
