Mercy is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead and coordinate patient care within the department. You will assess staffing needs, assign roles, and ensure timely, safe, and high-quality care aligned with Mercy standards.

The Charge Nurse manages the operations of the department. They are the leader who provides support, mentorship, and guidance to those who provide direct patient care. The Charge Nurse will coordinate the delivery of patient care by determining staffing needs and making patient assignments by choosing the right assignment for the right person. The Charge Nurse will ensure that all patients receive timely, safe, effective and high quality care. They coordinate the patients plan of care with the bedside nurse. The Charge Nurse will set the expectations regarding professional conduct and serves as a resource for the patient care unit. The Charge Nurse will hold direct and indirect care providers accountable for their professional responsibilities and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The Charge Nurse performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mission, Values and Mercy Service Standards.

Bed Numbers: 26 Nurse to Patient Ratio: 4:1 possible 5:1 Patient Population: stepdown patients cardiac drips set rates, cardiac drips set rates, post procedural patients, cardioversions, bipap, airvo, chest tubes, post pacemakers BLS/ACLS/NIHSS common diagnosis of CHF, COPD, CKD
