Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a Charge RN at the Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover, MD. The Charge RN will supervise nursing and support staff while providing quality nursing care in a correctional facility environment.

Successful candidates must hold a valid RN license in Maryland, with a preference for a BSN. The position offers a full-time day shift with comprehensive benefits including health insurance and a 401(k) plan.

About the Role

The Charge RN is responsible for supervising nursing and support staff during the assigned shift in a correctional setting and providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients. The Charge RN works under the direction of the Director of Nursing and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to identify and respond to a wide range of physical and mental health needs.

Available shift: full time, days.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland; BSN preferred but not required
• Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
• Prior experience providing nursing care and working with a high degree of autonomy required
• Prior experience in supervising nursing staff preferred
• Experience working in a correctional environment preferred
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
