Job summary

Chandler Regional Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Trauma Neuro ICU Charge RN to lead a team of frontline nurses on a shift, guiding patient flow, resources, and quality care. You will mentor staff, evaluate care, and ensure high standards are met in a fast-paced ICU setting.

You bring an RN license in AZ or a compact state, and a BSN is preferred with demonstrated leadership in acute care.

• ADN/ diploma or foreign equivalent required.
• BSN preferred, leadership or charge-nurse experience valued.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Surgical Trauma Neuro ICU Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. You will provide oversight of the activities on the nursing unit during a specific shift including serving as a resource to staff, directing patient flow, assuring appropriate utilization of resources, and providing oversight for the provision of quality care in a manner satisfying to patients.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety
• Goals, and participation in inservice education.
• Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
• Evaluates care given by staff.
• Coaches to improve care.
• Ensures standard of care is maintained.

Job Requirements

Required

• Associate of Nursing, Diploma, or foreign equivalent
• Registered Nurse: AZ or compact state license
• American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months

Preferred

• Bachelors Of Science in Nursing
• Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty
• Previous Charge Nurse experience
• Previous experience with personal computers
