Job summary

Dignity Health's Chandler Regional Medical Center is seeking a Charge RN in Neonatal ICU to lead a team of frontline nurses. You will advocate for colleagues, drive performance, and ensure high standards of care in a busy NICU.

You will mentor, coach, and coordinate care while maintaining ethical and safety practices within the unit. The role emphasizes accountability, effective communication, and collaboration with leadership to achieve departmental goals and patient-centered outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• AZ RN licensure.
• BLS and NRP certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Mentor staff in competencies, documentation, equipment use, and care plans.
• Provide direct patient care as needed in NICU.
• Evaluate care provided by staff and coach for improvements.
• Ensure adherence to standards of care.
• Address ethical dilemmas and coordinate Ethics Consults when needed.
• Support department leadership towards safety goals.

As a Charge RN in Neonatal ICU, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in Labor and Delivery Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
• Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
• Evaluates care given by staff.
• Coaches to improve care.
• Ensures standard of care is maintained.
• Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.

Pay Range

$42.85 - $63.77 /hour
