Job summary

Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, AZ seeks a Medical Surgical Ortho Charge RN to lead a frontline nursing team in a high-acuity setting. You will advocate for nurses, coach on care standards, and ensure timely patient flow with ethics support.

The ideal candidate has an ASN, 2+ years RN leadership or charge nurse experience, AZ RN license, BLS and ACLS within 6 months, and a commitment to patient-centered care as part of CRMC's mission.

Qualifications

• ASN required with 2+ years RN experience in applicable clinical specialty or as charge nurse.
• AZ RN license
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Mentors others in competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, and patient safety goals.
• Evaluates care provided by staff and coaches improvement.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Coordinates ethical discussions and Ethics Consult process.
• Manages unit patient flow to ensure timely and effective care.
• Attends hospital-wide bed board meetings.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Medical Surgical Ortho Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.


• Evaluates care given by staff, coaches to improve care, and ensures standard of care is maintained.


• Provides direct patient care as needed.


• Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.


• Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.


• Attends hospital-wide bed board meetings.

Required

• Associate Of Nursing and Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience


• Registered Nurse: AZ


• American Heart Association Basic Life Support


• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within six (6) months
