Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro Science unit in Hickory, NC. The role features 3x12 hour night shifts and a 20,000 commitment-incentive bonus, with opportunities to lead nursing teams on a dynamic 20-bed unit.

You will assess patients, coordinate interventions, and contribute to the interdisciplinary care plan while maintaining high standards of patient care and documentation.

Qualifications

• Current NC RN license
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required within six months of hire
• 2-4 years Neuro/Ortho RN experience required

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

Skills

The RN Neuro Science unit at Frye Regional Medical Center is a 20- Bed unit with a patient population including, but not limited to, spine/ neck/ head surgery, stroke and seizure. The unit offers self‑scheduling, 12‑hour shifts, and every‑other‑weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work‑life balance. Nurses gain valuable experience caring for a diverse patient population while working alongside experienced leaders and a strong interdisciplinary team.

How you'll contribute

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required within six months of hire.

2-4 years of Neuro/ Ortho RN experience required.

Charge Nurse experience preferred.
