Charge Registered Nurse - Home Therapy - RN

Purpose and Scope

Works with the Facility Manager, staff, and physicians to coordinate operations and patient procedures, ensuring quality care in accordance with policies and training. Provides nursing support, assists with staffing, equipment, relations, cost containment, compliance, and administrative tasks.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support and drive quality standards, meet regulatory requirements, and practice CQI.
  • Implement quality goals and develop action plans.
  • Ensure outstanding patient care and policy adherence.
  • Coordinate staff training and risk management initiatives.
  • Address adverse events proactively.
  • Communicate policies effectively to staff.
  • Maintain medical and operational records integrity.
  • Ensure environmental safety and compliance with bloodborne pathogen policies.
Patient-Related Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all patient care aspects from admission to discharge.
  • Perform assessments, patient education, and documentation.
  • Administer medications, IV sedation, and respond to emergencies.
Physician and Technical Responsibilities
  • Maintain communication with physicians.
  • Participate in meetings and ensure equipment readiness.
Administrative and Maintenance
  • Participate in cost control and policy development.
  • Manage medications, records, and staff competency testing.
  • Ensure facility safety, participate in surveys, and oversee compliance.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Describe typical work environment, travel requirements, and safety considerations.
Supervision

May supervise direct care staff.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; RN license required.
  • 6-8 years' related experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in vascular access, radiology, ICU, or surgical settings preferred.
Skills and Certifications
  • Proficiency in MS Office and medical software.
  • Management skills, good communication, CPR certification.
