Job summary

Southern Pain and Spine in Gainesville/Athens, GA, is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for ambulatory surgery with a Monday–Friday schedule. Lead clinical operations across pre-op, procedure, and recovery while delivering hands-on patient care in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Requirements include ADN, active RN license, BLS/ACLS, and ASC experience preferred. Competitive pay: $45–$48/hour plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• ADN and active RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Preferred ASC and/or pain management experience.
• BSN and/or CPAN certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• As Charge Nurse, provide clinical leadership while coordinating patient care.
• Lead daily clinical activities, staffing, and workflow coverage.
• Serve as clinical resource for nurses and support staff.
• Supervise personnel and reinforce protocols.
• Perform patient assessments and document findings.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to care teams.
• Provide nursing care during pre-op, procedural, and recovery stages.
• Collaborate with patients and families for positive outcomes.
• Support quality assurance, safety, and compliance initiatives.
• Maintain facility standards and ethics.
• Participate in staff meetings and continuing education.

Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM-4:30 PM & Friday 8:00 AM-12:00 PM

What You'll Do

As Charge Nurse, you'll provide clinical leadership while coordinating patient care and supporting efficient, safe operations across the surgical continuum.

• Coordinate daily clinical activities, including staffing and workflow coverage.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nurses and support staff.
• Supervise support personnel and reinforce established clinical protocols.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor treatment responses, and document clinical findings.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate care team members.
• Provide nursing care during pre-operative, procedural, and recovery stages.
• Partner with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes.
• Support quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintain facility standards, professional ethics, and evidence-based practices.
• Participate in staff meetings and continuing education.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.

Preferred

• Previous experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and/or pain management.
• Experience with Athena EHR.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• CPAN certification.
