Job summary

Southern Pain & Spine in Athens, GA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time role in a surgical and procedural setting. You will use the nursing process to assess patients, develop care plans, monitor responses, and coordinate care with physicians and the healthcare team.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN (BSN preferred), current RN license, and BLS certification, with strong assessment and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
• Knowledge of nursing standards and Nurse Practice Act.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories, assess, monitor vital signs, identify changes.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and team members.
• Provide safe, therapeutic care per policies and protocols.
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes in EMR.
• Prepare and maintain the surgical environment; assist during procedures as needed.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures; uphold infection-control practices.
• Operate C-Arm/fluoroscopy under surgeon guidance when required.
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM & Friday, 8:00 AM-12:00 PM

Position Summary

We're seeking an RN to provide safe, high-quality patient care in a surgical and procedural setting. The RN uses the nursing process to assess patients, develop and implement care plans, monitor patient responses, and coordinate care with physicians and the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories, perform assessments, monitor vital signs, and identify changes requiring intervention.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
• Provide safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and outcomes in the EMR.
• Prepare and maintain the surgical environment and assist physicians during procedures as assigned.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures and implement appropriate infection-control practices.
• Operate C-Arm/fluoroscopy equipment under the guidance of the surgeon when required.
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN); BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
• Knowledge of nursing standards, patient-care practices, and applicable Nurse Practice Act.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred

• At least 1 year of OR and/or PACU nursing experience.
• CPAN certification.
• Experience with surgical procedures, scrub processes, and post-anesthesia care.
• C-Arm/fluoroscopy experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
