Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Day shift, full-time PACU Charge Nurse to lead patient flow and staff in the post-anesthesia care unit.

You will collaborate with unit managers to ensure safety and uphold nursing standards. Requires nursing degree and at least 1 year in charge nurse role; BLS/CPR; NM license; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing.
• 1+ year of Charge Nurse experience in a hospital OR more than 1 year of clinical or management experience.
• CPR required; BLS certification within 14 days of hire/transfer.
• Active NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; clinical specialty certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing and nursing management of the patient and staff in charge area.
• Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies, and operational functions.
• Collaborates with unit managers/directors to develop and revise unit policies and protocols.
• Serves as departmental liaison and first contact with patients, providers, and staff.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

• Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology and oncology services.

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire)
