Job summary

San Juan Care Center in Farmington, NM is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN or LVN) to oversee resident care and direct nursing staff. The RN/LVN will develop the plan of care and coordinate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants to ensure safe, compliant patient care.

Responsibilities include charting, incident reporting, narcotic control, and monitoring patient changes. Minimum license and BLS/CPR are required; management experience is a plus. Equal opportunity employer.

• Current LVN/LPN or RN license in practicing state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to acquire one.
• Experience in nursing management is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedure for charting and incident reporting.
• Follows company procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
• Documents any change in patient\'s conditions including nutritional problems, infections, skin conditions, weight loss or other noticeable changes.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in appropriate programs.
• Document and notify applicable departments of any patient\'s room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

The Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse will be responsible for resident care and directing nursing staff. The RN is expected to develop the plan of care and collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants. The RN will also monitor assigned staff to ensure that all safety regulations are upheld.
