Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management in Santa Fe, NM is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide direct resident care and supervise nursing staff. The RN/LVN will develop care plans, collaborate with physicians, therapists and aides, and monitor staff to uphold safety standards.

This full-time position emphasizes nursing management, charting, narcotic procedures, and timely documentation as residents' conditions change.

Qualifications

• Current LVN/LPN or RN license in practicing state.
• BLS/CPR certification required or willingness to acquire.
• Experience in nursing management preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedure for charting and incident reporting.
• Follows company procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
• Documents any change in patient's conditions including nutritional problems, infections, skin conditions, weight loss or other noticeable changes.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Document and notify applicable departments of any patient's room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

The Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse will be responsible for resident care and directing nursing staff. The RN is expected to develop the plan of care and collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants. The RN will also monitor assigned staff to ensure that all safety regulations are upheld.

Charge Nurse (RN or LVN) will provide nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient's needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies as well as state, federal and local guidelines.
